Elena Roberts has been appointed editorial director at Piatkus non-fiction, and will grow the popular psychology, neuroscience, science-led health and smart-thinking side of the list. She will join Piatkus on 13th January and report to publisher Jillian Young.
Roberts will join Piatkus from Cornerstone, where she worked on books including Supercommunicators by Charles Duhigg and Fortitude by Bruce Daisley, as well as the backlist titles such as Atomic Habits and Never Split the Difference. She commissioned titles such as 10 to 25 by developmental psychologist David Yeager, The Child-Healthy Divorce by psychoanalyst Erica Komisar, and How to Feel Loved by Sonja Lyubomirsky and Harry Reis. This year, she also published Your Money Life by financial advisor Bola Sol.
Young said: "I am so excited to welcome Elena to the team. Her sharp commercial acumen, coupled with her deep knowledge of this area of the market and experience working on strong backlist and international sellers, immediately impressed us. We are confident that she will be a perfect fit for Piatkus and will play a crucial role in taking the list to even greater heights."
Roberts added: "I am thrilled to be joining Jill and the team at Piatkus. In my career I have acquired exciting titles in the popular psychology and health genres and worked on the some of the biggest and bestselling titles in self-help and smart-thinking, but the opportunity to develop a list of expert authors at an award-winning imprint is especially enticing. I have so loved my time at Cornerstone and I will miss my colleagues at Cornerstone Press and Hutchinson Heinemann enormously, as well as my authors. But I am delighted to make this next step, and I have ambitions to find and develop some of the very best books in this space."
