Emerald Publishing’s ‘Data Dan’ will run an ultra-marathon every day for five days. Daniel Molesworth, director of data at Emerald Publishing, is taking on the monumental challenge to raise money for the BookTrust. He is running the 300km multi-day ultra-marathon, travelling on Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route. His journey began at St Bees in Cumbria on Wednesday 25th September, and concludes at Robin Hood’s Bay on Sunday 29th September. This feat involves running an average of 60km per day and ascending nearly 8,000m, almost the height of Mount Everest.
Molesworth’s passion for running began during the Covid-19 lockdowns, and his love for endurance challenges has also grown.
The BookTrust is Emerald Publishing’s chosen charity for 2024, and the academic publisher has been raising funds throughout the year with a variety of different activities.
Molesworth’s challenge coincides with Emerald’s Big Walk, which takes place on Friday 27th September and will see a group of Emerald colleagues take part in a sponsored walk in North Leeds.
