Emma Lagarde has been promoted to rights manager at The Bent Agency (TBA), overseeing all translation sales for the agency’s UK and US offices.
Lagarde came to TBA in 2023 as rights executive after four years in the rights department at Usborne. A former intern at Sylvie Zannier Literary Scouting Agency, she holds a master’s degree in Publishing Media from Oxford Brookes University.
Molly Ker Hawn, m.d, said: “Emma has made an enormous impact in her first year at TBA, handling an astonishing 299 foreign deals in 2023 and expanding our direct sales into Spanish-speaking territories. She’s a terrific advocate for our clients and we’re thrilled to have her on our team.”
