Fitzcarraldo Editions has hired Carolina Parodi as operations director.
She joins from Europa Editions, where she was sales and marketing manager for four years. Prior to that she spent three years at Hachette in publicity and marketing roles. In her new role at Fitzcarraldo Editions, she is responsible for day-to-day operations across the publishing house’s activities, reporting to publisher Jacques Testard.
“We are thrilled that Caro has joined Fitzcarraldo Editions," Testard said. "She has excellent sales and marketing experience but is first and foremost a brilliant all-rounder, as so many of us have to be at small independent presses, and has an exceptional understanding of the publishing landscape.
“She is a very exciting addition to the team at a point where, a decade after our launch, we are modestly expanding with the launch of the First Decade Collection this autumn and a poetry list in early 2025. I am delighted to be working with her.”
Parodi added: “I have long admired the boldness and passion of Fitzcarraldo Editions’ publishing. Merely 10 years after its founding, the Fitzcarraldo constellation of exceptional authors and translators shines at its brightest. I am hugely excited to join this brilliant and ambitious team.”
Fitzcarraldo Editions is an independent publisher founded in 2014. It publishes around 24 books per year across its contemporary and classic lists and has eight full-time members of staff and a part-time poetry editor Rachael Allen.
