Izzy Everington is leaving Hodder & Stoughton to join Profile Books as editorial director.
Everington has worked across the Hodder Studio and Hodder Non-Fiction imprints as commissioning editor for the past few years. Her non-fiction publications include Jellyfish Age Backwards, The Hydrogen Revolution and the forthcoming This Won’t Hurt.
As part of the non-fiction team, she will work alongside non-fiction publisher Rebecca Gray, publishing director Cecily Gayford and m.d. Andrew Franklin. She joins the company on 25th October.
"I’m so excited to join the team at Profile," she said. "The atmosphere they have crafted over the years is one that fizzes with ambition, creativity and boundless energy and has created some of the most exciting non-fiction in the market. I have been so grateful for my time at Hodder and will miss my colleagues there immensely, not to mention the incredible authors I’ve had the pleasure of working with, but I can’t wait to begin building a list alongside Andrew, Rebecca, Cecily and the rest of the brilliant team."
Gray added: "At Profile we seek out smart people who can handle complicated ideas and take them to a wide readership, and Izzy is exactly that person. She, like our whole team, is interested in the text as well as the publishing of it, and her scientific background brings something unique too. We very much admire the acquisitions she has made for Hodder and can’t wait to see what she brings to Profile in her new role. She has a brilliant reputation, entrepreneurial spirit and when we asked around, her name kept coming up."
