Ex-Macmillan c.e.o. Richard Charkin has joined private capital and mergers and acquisition (M&A) specialists Trillium Partners as a senior advisor.
The company said he would work to originate and execute M&A and private capital raising agreements.
Charkin has a long background in publishing, including executive positions at Pergamon Press, Oxford University Press, Bloomsbury, Reed International/Reed Elsevier, Current Science Group. He is currently president of Bloomsbury China and John Wisden.
He said: “Having observed and participated actively in the evolution of publishing industry, I can see significant further scope for M&A activity and the potential for new business models to make their mark. I am thrilled to take on this role at Trillium which will give me the chance to team up with one of the most experienced and well regarded M&A and Private Capital raising advisory firms in my space.”
Trillium Partners advises listed companies, private firms and financial sponsors on M&A and private capital raising transactions valued at £20 million to £500 million in the broadcasting and entertainment, information and events, learning and development and marketing communications sectors.
