Faber has landed a collection of "uplifting" romantic short stories, edited by author Melissa Meyer.
Publisher Leah Thaxton acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Australia and New Zealand, from Jill Grinberg at Jill Grinberg Literary Management. Serendipity will publish in paperback on 4th January 2022.
Serendipity features stories of "first, unrequited, and surprising love" from YA authors including Elise Bryant, Elizabeth Eulberg, Leah Johnson, Anna-Marie McLemore, Marissa Meyer, Sandhya Menon, Julie Murphy, Caleb Roehrig, Sarah Winifred Searle and Abigail Hing Wen.
The synopsis states: "Readers will fall head over heels for this collection that takes on the greatest romantic tropes and celebrates love of all kinds at its most humorous, heart-expanding and serendipitous."
Meyer said: "This is a collection for all the incorrigible romantics – like me! – who simply can't get enough of those classic romantic tropes. It brought me an abundance of joy to see how each of the contributors reimagined one of the hallmarks of romantic fiction — the secret admirer, the fake relationship — and updated these tropes with their own unique voices and perspectives. To me, the end result is a collection of stories that is thoughtful, uplifting and oh-so-swoony."
Thaxton said: "This delectable collection celebrates all kinds of love, and the delicious serendipity of it, those first moments of realisation, and it comes from a selection of some of the hottest YA writers around. I am thrilled, and heart-a-pounding to see it on our list."
