More than 80 fans gathered at the second LockNation fan event in Waterloo, London to celebrate the Netflix series "Lockwood & Co", developed from Jonathan Stroud’s eponymous book series.
"LockNation" refers to the fan base that has arisen from the popularity of the Netflix show. Its second outing as a physical event was organised by fans Emily De Nagle, Hayley Gray and Lily Jaeger and spanned the entire weekend of 27th to 28th July.
Author Stroud attended for a VIP panel alongside the director and producer of the series, Joe Cornish and three members of the cast Hayley Konadu, Rhianna Dorris and Rico Vina. The conversation included the challenges of filming the series with Covid-19 restrictions and was followed by a Q&A and a two-hour meet and greet.
The event also included tours of the locations from the Netflix show, as well as a scavenger hunt and a boat trip on the River Thames. One attendee crowd-funded their travel expenses from America by sketching Lockwood characters for those who donated to the fund.
The first season of "Lockwood & Co", released in January 2023, covered the first two books in the series The Screaming Staircase and The Whispering Skull, both published by Penguin Random House Children’s.
