Duckworth Books imprint Farrago has acquired two new titles in the Follet Valley Mystery series by TV and radio comedian Ian Moore.
World rights were acquired from agent Bill Goodall by m.d. Pete Duncan, with publication of the second book in the series, Death and Fromage, scheduled for July 2022.
The untitled book three is to be published in July 2023, while paperback release of the first title in the series, Death and Croissants, is due April 2022.
It was announced in July 2021 that Death and Croissants has been optioned for TV by independent production company Free@Last TV, the producers behind Sky TV’s “Agatha Raisin”.
Commenting on the acquisition, Moore said: "I am so grateful for the faith that Farrago are putting in me and for all the people who have read the series opener. I wish I could say more, but I clearly have a lot of work to be getting on with."
Duncan added: "Death and Croissants has been a revelation and Ian deserves all the success he is finding. We’re delighted that we’ll be welcoming readers back to the charming and eccentric Follet Valley in July."
Moore is a stand-up comedian who stars in Dave’s “Unspun” and Channel 5’s “Big Mouths”. He lives in in the Loire Valley with his wife and three children and is the author of A la Mod: My So-Called Tranquil Family Life in Rural France and C’est Modnifique!: Adventures of an English Grump in Rural France (both published by Summersdale).
