The Federation of Children’s Book Groups (FCBG) and World Book Day (WBD) will next month launch a competition to give away £1,000 worth of non-fiction children’s books.
The two groups will give away four sets of non-fiction titles, drawn from a list of 100 books compiled by the FCBG.
The first prize is for the complete set of all 100 books. The second prize is for the 33 books aimed at 0-7 year-olds in the list, whilst the third prize is for the 34 titles aimed at 5-11 year-olds. The final prize is for the 33 non-fiction books for readers aged 9+.
Entrants must nominate groups, schools or libraries that would enjoy a new set of non-fiction books, although more information on how to enter will be released on the WBD website on 1st November.
The initiative is part of FCBG’s National Non-Fiction November, an annual, month-long celebration of factual books. FCBG will also publish a booklet of the 100 titles, entitled ‘100 Brilliant Non-Fiction Books for Children and Young People’.
