Writers including Stuart Maconie, Jenny Éclair and Helen Fielding will headline this year's Leeds Lit Fest, which will also feature a showcase of authors from indie Peepal Tree Press.
The festival was founded in 2019 by a partnership of arts organisations and volunteers to highlight the city’s literature scenes and bring together local and national writers, performers and artists.
Running from 4th to 8th March this year, the festival will offer more than 100 events, including writing workshops, a specially commissioned Leeds Lit Adventure Walk, a podcast series, plus spoken and visual performances.
A C Grayling, journalist Gavin Esler and Whitbread Sports Book of the Year multiple winner, Duncan Hamilton, will be at The Leeds Library while Dave Haslam will be talking at Hyde Park Book Club
Children will have a place to practice their artistic skills too with workshops and activities led by award-winning authors like Kate Pankhurst and illustrators including Chris Mould.
Carl Hutton, chair of the festival said: "Leeds Lit Fest is really looking forward to exciting and inspiring the city with its 2020 Lit Fest programme. We hope as many people as possible will get involved in March in the largest literature event that the city has ever had. There really is something for everyone."
