Jane Finigan has become a full partner and co-owner of the Lutyens & Rubinstein Literary Agency alongside founding partners Sarah Lutyens & Felicity Rubinstein, making the company a limited liability partnership (LLP).
The agency was founded in 1993 and Finigan joined in 2006, becoming a director in 2016. She was named a Bookseller Rising Star in 2013 and has been awarded the Jerusalem and Turin Fellowships.
Lutyens and Rubenstein said: “From the moment she joined it was clear to us that Jane would be a brilliant agent and colleague and we are delighted to have secured the future of the agency with Jane as a full partner.”
Finigan said: “Sometimes publishing seems to be an industry of musical chairs and it can feel a little strange to say that I have been at the same company for 17 years but the truth is I can think of no better chair to sit in. It’s a wonderful agency with a fantastic list of authors and a brilliant, close knit team. Sarah and Felicity have been such wise, kind and supportive mentors over the years and it means a huge deal to join them at the helm of the agency. I feel very lucky indeed and excited about what we can achieve together.”
Prema Raj has also been appointed head of rights, following a seven-year stint at AM Heath where she was awarded the David Miller Bursary for a rights professional in 2017.
