Independent YA and children's publisher Firefly Press will publish Grow by debut author Luke Palmer, described as a "powerful" novel on right-wing radicalisation.
Publisher Penny Thomas acquired world rights for Grow from Jane Finnigan at Lutyens & Rubenstein. Publication is scheduled for spring 2021.
In Grow, 15-year-old Josh is struggling to cope with his father’s recent death at the hands of terrorists when he is targeted by a white supremacist group and its violent leader. The story follows Josh as he tries to find the strength to resist.
Thomas said: "Grow is a tense and unflinching YA novel of our social landscape, woven through with redemptive strands of love, friendship and nature. Luke Palmer is a talented writer and we are delighted to sign this powerful and lyrical novel."
