HarperCollins has landed the first official puzzle book from the British Army.
HarperCollins acquired UK and Commonwealth rights for The British Army Challenge Book by the British Army and Dr Gareth Moore, bestselling author of The Ordnance Survey Puzzle Book (Trapeze). HarperNonFiction editorial director Lydia Good landed the deal with the British Army and Constance Manson at the IMG Licensing agency. The book will publish in trade paperback on 17th October 2019.
With over 100 approved British Army challenges, this book is set to help readers develop the vital mind-training skills needed for any team player or budding recruit. Its military-based puzzles are designed to test the problem-solving skills that a member of the British Army might be expected to have, using a range of mazes and navigation challenges, team-building tasks, code-breaking exercises and a series of case studies where you can put everything you’ve learnt to the test in training scenarios.
Good said: "It has been so much fun working with the British Army and Dr Gareth Moore to put this book together – their enthusiasm is contagious! The pages are packed full of puzzles and tests to encourage team work and invite friendly competition, including insights and nuances from the inside workings of the British Army. This is a puzzle book for everyone and we hope that it will challenge readers’ perceptions, provoke critical thought processes, and deliver a few surprises along the way."
