FMcM has appointed Helen Clifford, who has marketed the London Book Fair for more than 10 years as part of RX Global (Reed Exhibitions), to the newly created role of marketing director.
She will start in her new role in December 2022 and report directly to c.e.o. Fiona McMorrough. The agency says Clifford will “advance digital innovation across the agency’s portfolio, including brand profile campaigns, video creation and digital event production, in line with increasing demands for integrated, full-service campaigns”.
Clifford will complete the senior management team, alongside communications director Emma Mitchell, and head of media relations Kealey Rigden.
She also joins Daniel Kramb, communications consultant, who has been responsible for directing high-level digital content campaigns across the agency’s events and prizes both in the UK and internationally, including the Cundill History Prize, and communications assistant Ned Green, who joined the team in 2021 and has since run campaigns for the Women’s Poets Prize, Polari Prize and poet, Scarlett Sabet.
McMorrough said: “I have worked with Helen over the years as communications consultant to London Book Fair’s Cultural Programme, working in London and in overseas territories including China and Sharjah.
“Helen is a gifted marketeer, a talented event organiser and a team player. She is highly motivated, has a great work ethic and is enormous fun. I am really looking forward to her joining FMcM in November, where she can add her extensive experience, expertise and support to our talented and growing team.”
Clifford commented: “I am looking forward to joining the brilliant and experienced team at FMcM. FMcM is one of the leading books and publishing PR agencies with whom it has been a pleasure to work over the years and I am excited to start working on creative campaigns for both them and their diverse list of clients and initiatives.”
