Rebecca Folland, currently rights director at Janklow & Nesbit, is joining Hodder & Stoughton, Headline, John Murray Press and Quercus to lead the rights department following Jason Bartholomew’s departure.
Jamie Hodder Williams welcomed Folland to the role of rights director, noting she would join in September "with a wealth of experience and ideas from both the publisher and agency worlds". Prior to Janklow & Nesbit, where she has worked for the past 13 years, Folland worked at Penguin and Frances Lincoln.
Hodder Williams added: "Emma Thawley and Joanna Kaliszewska and the rights team have been driving our deals and income with great commitment and will continue to do so, reporting to Rebecca, when she starts with us in time for our Frankfurt preparations in September this year.”
Folland commented: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining Hachette to take on this exciting new challenge. After 13 extremely happy and rewarding years at Janklow & Nesbit, I will miss working with an incredibly talented group of people. But when Jamie approached me to head up the rights department, I knew I couldn't resist the opportunity to move back to a publishing house and to work with such a great team."
Bartholomew revealed he was leaving Hodder & Stoughton to join Midas Publishing Relations as joint c.e.o in February.
