Maria Brannan, former scout at Maria B Campbell Associates, has joined Greyhound Literary as agent and translation rights manager.
In her new role Brannan will be working with Sam Edenborough to sell rights for the agency’s clients as well as building her own list. She starts on 9th February.
Greyhound handles various translation rights on behalf of a number of agencies and publishers, including The Cheney Agency and Regal Hoffmann in New York, and the UK’s oldest independent publishing house, Duckworth.
As an agent, Brannan will focus in particular on YA, new adult/crossover and adult fiction. Previously she spent more than five years as a literary scout at Maria B Campbell Associates in London, where she advised international publishers in more than a dozen countries on the adult and children’s publishing market, and scouted multiple books for their film/TV client, Netflix.
Edenborough said: “I first encountered Maria’s skill, intelligence and astute take on the market when she was a scout and am certain she’ll be a brilliant asset for Greyhound’s growing translation rights business. We are eager to see her career as an agent begin and are sure she will thrive in both roles.”
