Kishani Widyaratna, editorial director at Fourth Estate, has been included in Vogue’s 25 most influential women of 2022, alongside the Queen, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Emma Raducanu.
Widyaratna, tweeted she was “surprised and delighted” by the news, adding she was “grateful to our brilliant authors and the many talented people I’m lucky to work with at Fourth Estate Books”.

Vogue said her “eye for young talent – and commitment to diversifying the still-elitist publishing world – has cemented her status as one of the key players transforming the industry”.
It went on to say: “Not only is Widyaratna behind some of the buzziest Millennial authors writing now – Monica Heisey, Eloghosa Osunde, and Yomi Adegoke included – she’s refreshingly vocal about the need for systemic change at every opportunity.”
Widyaratna was the only publisher on the list, which also included Victoria Beckham, Jodie Comer, Sue Gray, Deborah James and Emma Thompson. The full list can be found here.
