Andrew Furlow has been appointed head of Greystone Books UK, effective from 15th February 2023.
In this newly created role, Furlow will oversee Greystone’s sales and marketing programmes in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Europe. Reporting to publisher Jen Gauthier, Furlow will also oversee the production, inventory management and brand-building activities of Greystone and its imprints in the UK, Ireland and Europe.
He was formerly associate publisher of Icon Books for more than two decades, but left by “mutual agreement” when the company restructured in September 2022.
Rob Sanders, c.e.o. and founding publisher of Greystone Books, said: “Our plan to strengthen Greystone in the UK was given a boost when Andrew Furlow and his wealth of publishing experience appeared. We are very pleased that Andrew will become such an important part of our strong UK team.”
Furlow said: “I’m delighted to be joining Greystone in this thrilling new role, and at an auspicious time with the list’s 30th anniversary in 2023. I’ve long admired Greystone’s value-led nature, health and children’s list from afar and know the phenomenal success they’ve achieved in North America and indeed already this side of the Atlantic. I’m greatly looking forward to working with Rob and the team to build on that impressive legacy in the UK, Ireland and Europe.”
Greystone Books is an independent publisher whose UK titles include Sunday Times bestseller The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben and The Diabetes Code by Dr Jason Fung, a.k.a. the “founder of intermittent fasting”.
