FutureBook, The Bookseller’s annual publishing conference, returns on Monday 27th November, with a special focus on AI. Geared towards leaders and future leaders, the event will culminate in the FutureBook Awards, with submissions now open.
The event promises 50+ speakers from across publishing, entertainment, tech, education and more for a day of keynotes, panels, interviews, case studies and conversations that will help delegates plot out the future of the business, and their place in it. From audio to IP, data to design, FutureBook 2023 will be covering all the industry’s most urgent issues, particularly AI and how the industry can embrace or guard against artificial neural networks, what their implications are for core roles, and the ways in which generative AI might change the creative act itself.
The conference will be co-programmed by The Bookseller’s editor Philip Jones and comment editor Molly Flatt.
Jones said: "FutureBook is the go-to conference for many in the book business; this year’s emphasis on leadership at a time of continuing change and challenge will lead to discussions of the highest order addressing some of the business’ most gnarly topics. We can’t wait to unveil the programme."
The awards are now open for submissions, with honours for outstanding book people and projects in four categories: a Leader of the Year, Future Leader of the Year, Start-up of the Year and a FutureBook Excellence Award. Entries close on 16th October, and can be made here.
Group, freelance, small press and bookshop rates will be available. Email Philip.Jones@theBookseller.com should you have any content pitches, or Signe@theBookseller.com for sponsorship opportunities.
