George Walkley has been named non-executive chair at Midas, the books, arts and culture communications agency. He succeeds George Lossius, who is retiring as of 30th June after 10 years.
Walkley spent 15 years at Hachette as group digital and development director, and is now an independent consultant, non-executive director and a doctoral researcher. Described as an expert on AI in publishing and media, he has developed the world’s first independent, CPD-accredited training course on generative AI for book publishers.
Walkley said: "I’ve known the Midas team as a non-executive director, as a consultant, and in many cases as a colleague. The business has a fantastic client base and ambitious plans. I’m delighted to be working more closely with Jason Bartholomew and the rest of the board as non-executive chair."
Jason Bartholomew, c.e.o. of Midas, said: "Many of us have worked with George Walkley over the years in various capacities. George has decades of experience working adeptly across big corporates as well as start-ups. He is astute, creative, and skilful, and I am delighted to have George accept the role of non-executive chair to help guide Midas over the coming years."
