Ghostwriting and publishing consultancy firm, Kevin Anderson & Associates (KAA), is expanding into the UK 16 years after starting in America.
Adam Strange, formerly head of publishing at Gleam Futures and non-fiction publisher at Little, Brown’s Sphere imprint, has been appointed executive editor. His role will encompass close editorial work with authors, as well as collaboration with publishers and literary agents.
He will be joined by author Suzy K Quinn, who takes on the role of editorial director. She will be managing client collaborations and co-ordinating business operations, with additional editorial and operational support from the US team.
KAA has been operating in America since 2007, where it works on more than 500 books each year with publishers, agents and authors in roles ranging from ghostwriting and editing manuscripts to comprehensive publishing strategy.
The UK office is based in St James’ in London, with two full-time staff as well as several dozen UK contractors. The business is also planning to recruit more editors and support staff in the next six months.
The company’s c.e.o. and editor-in-chief Kevin Anderson said of the appointments: “We’re thrilled to officially launch KAA in the UK, bringing the same high-calibre, white glove service and unparalleled editorial excellence that has made KAA so successful in the US. While KAA’s UK operations are London-based, utilising talented UK editors and writers, KAA’s publishing connections in the US means that authors, agents, and publishers can benefit from a powerful transatlantic team.”
Strange commented: “I’ve been privileged to work with a stellar array of authors and colleagues in previous roles, but this is a rare opportunity to bring my experience across both publishing and agenting together. KAA is the gold standard when it comes to the provision of exceptional editorial services to authors and the wider publishing ecosystem in the US and from my first meeting with Kevin I was hugely impressed with his significant ambition for the business and his passion for his team’s work.
"I’m delighted to be joining such an expert group of editorial colleagues and writers and am excited about the titles we’re going to bring to the UK market and beyond.”
Quinn, who is published by HarperCollins and Hachette, commented: “I’m beyond excited to bring the KAA vision to the UK. It’s a totally unique approach, offering agents, authors, and publishers a wide range of helpful services. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some real publishing superstars in the past; it is a great privilege to continue working with such talented writers and editors with KAA while bringing great books into the market and elevating new voices.”
