The Gollancz sci-fi and fantasy festival is returning for its fourth year this November in the company of authors including Joe Hill, Ben Aaronovitch, and Joanne Harris.
The physical festival will take place on Saturday 4th November. It will comprise reader’s events with panel conversations and talks, and a writers’ workshop with over 25 different sci-fi and fantasy authors and industry professionals.
The Gollancz festival will again partner with Foyles, with events taking place in their Charing Cross Road store and the Phoenix Artists Club. Last year, according to Gollancz, Foyles said they "experienced the best Saturday for sales outside the Christmas period ever".
Gollancz will also be incorporating its digital festival in the week running up to the live bookshop events, with a full digital line up to be released nearer the time. Last year #GollanczFest16 reached 22m timelines on Twitter and trended four times over the course of the week.
The physical and digital festival combined produced sales in excess of 20,000 copies across print, e-book and audio, according to Gollancz.
Publishing director of Gollancz, Gillian Redfearn, said: “It's phenomenal to be able to run an annual festival which lets us talk directly to readers and writers at all stages of their careers. Nothing beats the energy in the room when we get started and we're looking forward to seeing you all there.”
Hannah Ludbrook, Foyles London events co-ordinator, said: "We’re incredibly excited to once again be partnering with Gollancz on this wonderful weekend to celebrate some of their greatest names in sci-fi and fantasy writing. After the huge success of the 2016 festival, we’re looking forward to even bigger and better things in 2017 with the likes of Foyles favourites Joe Hill, Ben Aaronovitch and Joanne Harris joining us at our flagship shop on Charing Cross Road."
Tickets are now on sale.
