Lydia Good has been promoted to publishing director for specialist and Thorsons at HarperNonFiction, while Ajda Vucicevic is made a permanent publishing director, having joined the division last year on a fixed-term maternity cover. The moves are effective immediately.
Meanwhile Kelly Ellis, publishing director, entertainment, returns from her parental leave to resume her leadership of the division’s entertainment publishing.
Adam Humphrey, publisher for HarperNonFiction, said: “Lydia is a hugely integral part of the team having led our specialist publishing to another very successful year and managing a list that is going from strength to strength, while also spearheading strategy and acquisitions across our Thorsons imprint. And since joining the team a year ago, Ajda’s energy, commitment and zest for publishing have shone through, and she has shown an excellent eye for finding talent with broad commercial appeal. I know she will continue to bring a huge amount of enthusiasm and nous to her new role, publishing across the breadth of our list.
“With these changes in place, and welcoming Kelly Ellis back to the team from parental leave, I believe our editorial team is stronger than ever and strategically placed to acquire some really exciting books across a range of tastes and interests. I’m looking forward to seeing the results.”
In her role managing the specialist publishing team, Good has published a wide range of successful titles including notable brand partnerships with Cadbury’s and Baileys, alongside trend-led releases The Little Book of Sloth Philosophy and The Halloumi Cookbook. Her forthcoming titles include Dr Meg Arroll’s Tiny Traumas and What’s for Dinner? from Sarah Rossi.
Since joining HarperCollins, Vucicevic has acquired musician, actor and bestselling author Martin Kemp’s Ticket to the World alongside Liz and Kelvin Fletcher’s Fletchers on the Farm. Before this, she published a range of bestsellers during her time at Welbeck, Mirror Books and Penguin Random House, including Jim Quillen’s Inside Alcatraz, The Life of Rylan by Rylan Clark and Ruby Wax’s A Mindfulness Guide for Survival.
