The Granta Trust has launched a new imprint, Granta Magazine Editions, as a new paperback original series of” exceptional literary quality”.
The first three titles are literary fiction in translation that were originally published in extract form in Granta magazine. They will be published in April, May and June 2025.
Granta said: “From Granta 165: Deutschland, Judith Hermann’s We Would Have Told Each Other Everything (due to be published on 10th March 2025) is a work of subtle, perceptive autofiction from one of the most highly regarded, major prize-winning writers working in Germany today; Leif Randt’s Allegro Pastell (8th May) is iconic story of millennial romance… the film adaptation is scheduled for release in German in 2025.
“Shuang Xuetao’s Hunter (19th June) features in Granta 169: China. Xuetao is one of China’s most celebrated young writers and was recently profiled in the New York Times.”
Sigrid Rausing, publisher of Granta magazine and Granta Books, said: “This is an exciting new venture, closely aligned with the experimental ethos and taste of the magazine. Our first three titles are all works of exceptional literary quality, setting a benchmark for future acquisitions.”
Granta magazine’s editor Thomas Meaney said: “These books are born out of the magazine, and we expect Granta Magazine Editions to have a long life with readers keen to experience the pleasures of new work from the boundaries of international fiction and non-fiction.”
