Rebecca Gray and Hannah Westland have been made publishers at Profile in recognition of their “vital” work across the indie’s imprints, among a string of promotions across departments.
Gray is now publisher of non-fiction, while continuing in her role as Souvenir publisher. Westland becomes fiction publisher while continuing in her role as Serpent’s Tail publisher. Both also sit on Profile’s executive board.
At Viper, which won Imprint of the Year at the Nibbies this week, editorial director Miranda Jewess has been promoted to publishing director. Louisa Dunnigan is now senior commissioning editor at Profile Books, in addition to being head of audio.
Within Serpent’s Tail, Luke Brown has been promoted to editorial director, and Leonora Craig Cohen has been promoted to commissioning editor.
At Souvenir Press, Cindy Chan has been promoted to editorial director and Calah Singleton is now assistant editor.
On the publicity side, Anna-Marie Fitzgerald has been promoted to publicity director and will work alongside current publicity directors Hannah Ross and Alison Alexanian.
In the sales department, Sian Gibson has been promoted to UK sales manager, and Anya Johnson to sales operations and inventory manager.
Nick Humphrey joined Profile in February as acting editorial director of Profile Books, having previously been working freelance and working as an editor at Bloomsbury and PRH. Jon Petre joined as editorial assistant, helping across the Profile and Wellcome imprints, while Mehar Anaokar has joined Serpent’s Tail as editorial assistant, having previously worked at literary scouting company Daniela Schlingmann.
