Quadrille will publish the debut cookbook of "Great British Bake Off" finalist Kim-Joy Hewlett in August.
Quadrille’s senior commissioning editor Céline Hughes acquired world rights for Baking with Kim-Joy from Vivienne Clore.
"Kim-Joy won the nation’s hearts with her iced woodland creatures, chocolate globe full of space turtles and caring, determined spirit last year," said the publisher. "Having worked in the mental health profession and suffered from severe social anxiety as a child, Kim-Joy is keen to promote baking as a unique way to bring people together and foster happiness and wellbeing. The book will include over 40 wonderfully whimsical cake, biscuit and bread designs to spread a little (Kim-)Joy in everyone’s lives."
Céline said: “Kim-Joy is that rare thing: a truly memorable GBBO contestant with an unforgettable baking style that will transcend the show and continue to earn her fans long after the space turtles have returned to their planet. Not only is she irrepressibly imaginative and talented, she is also as lovely, engaging and joyful as her on-screen persona. I’m very lucky to be working with her on this hugely exciting project.”
Kim-Joy added: “It is a dream come true to be working on my first book with Quadrille, and I am so excited to share my world of baking.”
