Greystone Books and Profile Books will publish Seaweed by poet and artist Miek Zwamborn next year.
Matthes & Seitz, Germany sold world English rights to Greystone and UK, Commonwealth and European rights to Profile (via Greystone). The deal was arranged without an agent. Greystone and Profile Books will publish the book next year simultaneously in English-language markets around the world.
"A wonderfully illustrated text that delves into seaweed’s science and cultural history, Seaweed features Zwamborn's own botanical illustrations alongside seaweed-inspired works from art, fashion, and film," reads the synopsis. "The text, intriguingly, suggests that seaweed may also have an important role in addressing climate change as a sustainable and delicious source of food for humans, and a ‘miracle food’ that, fed to cows, can dramatically reduce their methane emissions."
