Guardian Faber has acquired a book about puzzles by maths writer Alex Bellos.
Can You Solve My Problems?: A casebook of ingenious, perplexing and totally satisfying puzzles is the story of the puzzle told through 125 brainteasers from the last two millennia from across the world, including ancient China, medieval Europe and Victorian England.
Commissioning editor Laura Hassan acquired the UK, Commonwealth and EU rights, excluding Canada, from Rebecca Carter at Janklow & Nesbit.
Publication is set for November this year (h/b, £16.99).
Bellos is a maths and philosophy graduate and has penned several other titles, including Alex's Adventures in Numberland (Bloomsbury) and the mathematical colouring book Snowflake, Seashell, Star (Canongate).
