Ross Hamilton is joining Michael O’Mara Books as commissioning editor, making the move from Welbeck.
After managing the sports list and acquiring titles across illustrated, narrative and licensed non-fiction at Welbeck, Hamilton will also be acquiring non-fiction in his new role. He will join on 28th March.
As a member of the Michael O’Mara commissioning team, Hamilton will work alongside senior editorial director Louise Dixon and senior commissioning editors Nicki Crossley and Jo Stansall.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Michael O’Mara," he said. "It’s been a pleasure working at Welbeck, where I’ve learned a huge amount from my wonderful colleagues over the past few years, but this felt like a fantastic opportunity for a new challenge with an ambitious and talented publisher. I’m looking forward to commissioning a wide variety of commercial non-fiction and can’t wait to get started with Louise and the team.”
Dixon said: “Ross impressed us greatly with his energy and passion for non-fiction publishing. We are well known for developing our own IP projects as well as working with agents, and he will bring a fresh, new perspective, helping take the list in lots of new directions. We are very excited to welcome him to the team."
