Charlotte Hardman is moving to Ebury from Penguin Michael Joseph (PMJ).
Hardman will join Ebury as publishing director, heading up its Ebury Spotlight entertainment hub on March 7th. Currently non-fiction publisher at PMJ, her appointment at Ebury follows the departure of Sara Cywinski to Pan Macmillan.
Andrew Goodfellow, Ebury divisional publisher, said: “Everywhere Charlotte has been, with stints at John Blake, Century, Hodder and most recently PMJ, she has created a huge array of bestsellers including Katie Price, Chris and Rosie Ramsay, Giovanna Fletcher, Richard Osman, Lynda Bellingham, Philip Schofield, The Sidemen and Daisy May Cooper.
“She is an incredible talent spotter and an instinctive acquirer who relishes the challenge of unearthing highly commercial bestsellers. What Ebury offers Charlotte in return is the opportunity to grow as a leader and publisher of her own imprint.”
Hardman said: “I’ve long admired Ebury’s great success particularly in recent years as they have been such a dominant force within the UK market. I’ve also been impressed by how forward-thinking, inclusive and kind their company culture is. I am therefore incredibly excited and honoured to be joining them to run and help continue to grow the Ebury Spotlight list and build a strong strategy for its future.
“Of course, with any new opportunity comes a moment to say goodbye and I have enjoyed some of the very happiest years of my career at Michael Joseph, working with an incredible group of people who have become great friends. I will always be grateful for the wise counsel and unerring support of Louise Moore, Daniel Bunyard and the rest of the team, I shall miss working with them all and remain their biggest of fans.”
