HarperCollins’ group sales director Oliver Wright has left the company with immediate effect.
In a short statement issued on Friday (9th February), a spokesperson for the publisher said Wright had departed to “pursue other opportunities”.
The sales team will report to HarperCollins c.e.o. Charlie Redmayne while a successor is found, the publisher said.
Wright was appointed as sales director to HarperCollins in 2010, joining from IPC Media where he had been retail director since 2006. He had a broad sales background including both magazines and other consumer brands.
In 2012 Wright took on the expanded role of group sales director, taking on responsibility for UK and international sales and rights across the group, both in physical and digital formats.
HarperCollins provided no further details about Wright's departure.
