Agnès Rigou has left HarperCollins to join the London office of the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as translation agent.
Rigou, who is based in the books department of the CAA office in Soho, will sell translation rights around the world for a wide-ranging list of authors, across fiction and non-fiction.
She has joined the agency from HarperCollins, where she most recently served as head of rights. During her tenure, Rigou handled fiction and non-fiction titles across all adult imprints, more recently focusing on narrative non-fiction titles and strategically navigating multiple territories across Europe and Asia.
She also spearheaded audio business development, particularly in the Chinese market, and collaborated to develop and execute the company’s global audio strategy in translation markets.
Previously having worked as a rights manager for the Quarto Group PLC, she handled translation rights for a range of illustrated titles, including customised and packaged content, in various European markets.
Throughout her career, Rigou has collaborated with a diverse range of authors and brands including One Direction, Justin Bieber, the Downton Abbey television tie-ins, Boris Johnson, "Fantastic Beasts", Michael Dobbs, Ant Middleton, Bosh!, Caroline Hirons, Brian Cox and Siya Kolisi, among others.
The news comes soon after the announcement that Rachel Mann has joined the CAA as a publishing agent after leaving the Jo Unwin Literary Agency.
