HarperCollins will launch “a dynamic” digital-first division entitled One More Chapter, to combine the HarperImpulse, Killer Reads and Avon digital-first divisions, with editorial director Charlotte Ledger at the helm.
From 1st July, the new brand will be installed to sit alongside the other fiction, non-fiction and Avon divisions with one dedicated team to champion digital publishing. HarperCollins said One More Chapter aims “to close the gap between author, publisher and reader; reacting speedily to reading trends and publishing the best in commercial fiction…Finding talented new writers and growing their careers has always been a key part of HarperCollins’ digital publishing imprints and will remain at the heart of the new division.”
Editorial director Ledger will head up the One More Chapter list, reporting to publisher Kimberley Young. HarperCollins said it will also be "rapidly expanding the team". It has also called on authors to directly contact "dynamic” digital-first division on onemorechapter@harpercollins.co.uk.
Young said: “With the digital market in constant change, uniting our current imprints under one brand and one division means we will take the very best of what we offer – market leading digital knowledge with the commercial expertise of a big brand publisher – and make it even better. Being at the heart of HarperCollins, One More Chapter will bring our authors closer to their readers than ever.”
Ledger said: “The last five years of digital publishing have been exciting and fast moving; HarperCollins have always been at the forefront of that change and we will continue to be. One More Chapter is a huge part of our strategic growth plans and I truly believe our successes in the past have come from our incredibly talented and passionate author base. This new global platform will enhance their creativity and storytelling on a new scale.”
