HarperFiction has announced two promotions in its marketing team with Sarah Shea and Fleur Clarke both stepping up.
Shea (pictured top) moves from head of fiction marketing to become deputy marketing director with immediate effect. HarperFiction said since joining the team in 2016, Shea has worked on a "stellar line up of stand-out successes" from debut releases Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, The Binding and Girl A, to Karin Slaughter, Kimberley Chambers and Fern Britton, earning her multiple Book Marketing Society Awards including Marketing Strategy of the Year in 2018. She will continue to report to Hannah O’Brien, senior marketing director.
Clarke (pictured right) will take on the new role of head of brand and creative marketing. In her new role, she will be focused on working with the team to "deliver an even higher level of creative execution" as well as working on Voyager's marketing strategy, the company's estates publishing and on key campaign releases. She will continue to report to O’Brien. In addition to her work with the marketing team, she will work on select brands for executive publisher Kimberley Young.
HarperFiction said its marketing team has gone "from strength to strength" in recent years and it is making these changes "both in recognition of that success and to help fuel its ambitious future growth plans".
O’Brien said: "Sarah and Fleur are two of the most talented marketers I have had the pleasure of working alongside. They are both exceptionally driven, demonstrate incredible creative flair and have proven key to delivering bestseller success across our publishing – not to mention award-winning campaigns! I can’t wait to see them both grow into their new roles and am extremely excited about the added value these changes will bring to the marketing team and to the division."
Young added: "As the HarperFiction division continues to grow and deliver bestsellers across the imprints and general list, the vision remains the same – that HarperFiction retains the very brightest of talent in house to ensure we are delivering best in class for our authors and publishing. The marketing team, under Hannah’s leadership and with these two promotions for Sarah and Fleur, will ensure the marketing continues to be innovative and bold."
