HarperVoyager has promoted Vicky Leech Mateos (pictured above) to commissioning editor at the imprint, with Jack Renninson (pictured right) taking over as editor.
Both promotions are effective immediately.
Leech Mateos began her publishing career as an intern at Felicity Bryan Associates before working in editorial at Oxford University Press, Collins Learning and Bloomsbury Kids. She joined HarperVoyager in late 2017 as editor and has commissioned YA crossover, core fantasy and science fiction for the list, bringing names such as Tamora Pierce to the imprint, and working on authors ranging from SFF heavyweights such as Katharine Kerr, Brian Aldiss, Mark Lawrence, Raymond E Feist, to rising stars Amelie Wen Zhao and J J A Harwood.
Renninson also joined HarperCollins in 2017 and has worked on bestselling authors such as George R R Martin, Peter V Brett, and Jay Kristoff. He has acquired titles shortlisted for the Arthur C Clarke, World Fantasy, and Shirley Jackson awards, as well as leading brand name backlist and special edition publishing. He also acquired debut The Embroidered Book by Kate Heartfield which will publish next spring.
