British actress Dame Harriet Walter will narrate HarperCollins’ lead spring début Saving Missy by Beth Morrey.
Walter was cast and produced by audio editorial director Fionnuala Barrett. The audiobook will be released alongside the hardback and ebook editions, on 6th February 2020.
Walter's body of work spans across film, theatre and television, including the Oscar-winning "Atonement", "Sense and Sensibility" and "Rocketman". She has also had roles in television series including "The Crown" and "Downton Abbey" and and is currently filming a lead in the next season of "Killing Eve".
HarperCollins acquired Saving Missy in 2018, after a 10-way auction. Saving Missy tells the story of prickly, stubborn Millicent. Living alone in her old family home, she’s left to reflect on her life’s regrets. But a chance encounter in the park with two very different women opens the door to something new.
Barrett said: "It has been a dream of mine to work with Harriet and I was delighted that the stars aligned so that she could record this lovely book. She is absolutely the person to bring Missy, with her fragility, warmth and humour, to life in audiobook."
Morrey added: "I’m utterly thrilled and honoured that one of my favourite actresses—Lady Caroline Collingwood!—has taken on the role of Missy. Harriet has just the right mix of steel and sweetness, and listening to her record the audiobook was a total joy."
