Joanne Harris, Emma Kennedy and Adele Parks are among speakers confirmed for the fifth annual Primadonna Festival.
Taking place between 28th to 30th July 2023 at the Food Museum in Stowmarket, Suffolk, also in attendance will be Iggy London, Rebecca Humphries, Daisy Buchanan, Andi Osho and J B Gill, among others.
Festival director Catherine Riley said: “We’re lining up many more unmissable conversations alongside great food, music and dance sessions, workshops for mind, body and soul, and some brilliant late night entertainment. We’re really happy to be returning to the Food Museum in Stowmarket which always provides the perfect setting for our unique mix of mind-expanding discussions and laid-back fun.”
Parks and Harris, alongside Joanna Cannon and Patrice Lawrence will lead the line-up for the festival’s sessions targeted at writers and aspiring writers. Riley added: “We have a continuous strand of programming that covers everything you need to know if you want to be a writer, want to get better at writing, or just want to hear how the best in the business go about it. We know that lots of people come to Primadonna because writers are their rock stars, and this year we’ve got some incredible sessions lined up to inspire them.”
The winner of this year’s Primadonna Prize for unsigned writers will also be announced at the festival: they will take away a book contract with HQ and a deal with Curtis Brown agent Alice Lutyens – the first time the festival has offered the prize.
Announcing the winner will be author and prize judge Andi Osho, who emphasises the importance of the competition: “It’s so important to create better access to the industry, and this is a fantastic way to get those unheard voices out there.” More information can be found here.
