Harrison and Osei-Afrifa join Bonnier’s Footnote Press
Grace Harrison and Kwaku Osei-Afrifa are joining Footnote Press from April as publicity and marketing manager and commissioning editor respectively.
Harrison joins from Picador Books where she worked as communications and events manager, devising campaigns for books such as Sea of Tranquility by Emily St John Mandel, Empire of Pain by Patrick Radden Keefe and Paul Takes the Form of a Mortal Girl by Andrea Lawlor. Before joining Picador, she worked in magazine publishing and video games.
Osei-Afrifa joins from Hodder Studio where they were editorial assistant, publishing titles such as Kate Folk’s debut story collection Out There and James Bradley’s BSFA-longlisted Ghost Species. Prior to Hodder, they worked at Canongate, Unbound and Titan, as well as spending two years working as a chef.
Footnote Press m.d. Vidisha Biswas said: “We are thrilled to have Grace and Kwaku join us. Both bring with them a freshness of thought and passion for publishing that is as inspiring as it is infectious. Their arrival completes the Footnote founding team in time for our launch next month.”
Being launched in partnership with Bonnier Books UK, the mission-oriented publisher of politically engaged and socially aware fiction and non-fiction will publish its first book in June this year.
Bonnier Books UK said the publisher was committed to spotlighting "previously excluded ways of thinking, being and organising through its ambitious publishing programme".
Harrison and Osei-Afrifa will be joining the company in April, reporting into Vidisha Biswas and Dave Watkins, editorial director, respectively.
