The Hay Festival will hold its 25th Winter Weekend in the grounds of Hay Castle in Hay-on-Wye between 28th November and 1st December this year. A 350-seater marquee in the grounds of the castle will play host to a range of talks and events.
The full line-up of speakers is set to be announced on Tuesday 24th September. Additional events will take place in the Castle’s Clore workshop space, plus venues around town including St Mary’s Church.
More than 10,000 tickets were sold for last year’s event, up 133% on the previous year.
Julie Finch, c.e.o. of Hay Festival Global, said: “We’ll be offering a heady dose of entertainment and joy alongside some bold visions for the future. We can build on the success of last year’s sold-out event, offering access to more festival-goers than ever, live and online.”
Tom True, executive director of Hay Castle, said: “The festival goes from strength to strength, and we are looking forward to another inspiring programme of great creativity and purpose.”
Chris Kemp, director, Hay-on-Wye Chamber of Commerce, said: “The 25th Winter Weekend will be a wonderful event that will bring people to Hay at an otherwise quiet time of year.”
