Independent publisher Head of Zeus will publish two books from debut author Victoria Scott.
Patience, about “a family struggling with the decision to put their severely disabled daughter into a high-risk gene therapy trial” according to the book's synopsis, will first publish in hardback, eBook and audio August 2021 with the second book to be announced.
Editorial director Hannah Smith acquired UK and Commonwealth (excluding Canada) rights to two new books from Hannah Weatherill at Northbank Talent Management. The agency still holds all foreign and dramatic rights.
Scott said: “I am so delighted Head of Zeus has given Patience a home. The team are as excited as I am about sending the book out into the world, and that's a fabulous feeling for any author.”
Smith added: “The moment I began to read Patience I knew I was reading something special. The way Victoria has so beautifully told the stories of each family member, whilst also maintaining the overarching storyline, blew me away. From Lou's wrought decisions and Eliza's fear of failure, there is a character for every reader to relate to. But most importantly, Patience is given a voice, and a truly fantastic one.”
