Frankie Edwards has been promoted to editorial director at Headline with immediate effect.
She previously worked as senior commissioning editor and commissioned and published Headline Review’s lead debut for 2022, Isaac and the Egg by Bobby Palmer, and will publish another debut, The Housekeepers by Alex Hay, in July 2023. She pre-empted world rights in the novel, which has been sold in eight territories to date.
Authors also edited by Edwards include Neil Gaiman, Alison Weir, digital bestseller Jodi Taylor, and K J Maitland, author of the Daniel Pursglove series.
Jennifer Doyle, fiction publishing director, said: “I’m thrilled to see Frankie take her career to the next level. She is building a wonderfully eclectic list of exceptional storytellers and has shown vision and dedication in the publishing of them.
“She is both leading the publishing of some of Headline’s most successful established authors while also bringing exciting new voices in reading-group fiction to the list. Her commitment to her authors’ success make this promotion very well deserved.”
