Headline Review has signed two new novels by Dorothy Koomson, author of four previous novels with the publisher including My Other Husband.
Jennifer Doyle, fiction publishing director, acquired world English language rights to the two as-yet-untitled novels from Antony Harwood at Antony Harwood Ltd. They will publish in 2024 and 2025.
Doyle said: “I’m so thrilled to continue this fantastic partnership with Dorothy. Each of Dorothy’s novels is truly unique but they all have the power to hold readers in their grip; they surprise, entertain and provoke discussion in equal measure and they just continue to get better.
“Working with Dorothy is both inspiring and fun, and I can’t wait to find out what she has in store for the books to come.”
According to UK TCM Bookscan, Koomson has sold more than two million copies across her career and her books have been translated into more than 30 languages. She featured on the 2021 Powerlist as one of the most influential Black people in Britain and appeared in GQ Style as a Black British trailblazer. She is currently a judge for the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2022.
Koomson said: “I love being published by Headline and having Jennifer as my editor. They are so open to allowing me to write the types of books I want. They’re also very open to any ideas I have. I’m so pleased that our working relationship is going to continue with these next two books.”
