Travel publisher Heartwood Publishing has moved its distribution operation to Glasgow-based BookSource ahead of Grantham Book Services’ closure in 2025.
Managing director of Heartwood Publishing Andy Riddle confirmed that the publisher is working with both GBS and BookSource to ensure minimal disruption to services, and said customers should continue to place orders with GBS until 30th September 2024, with further information being released in due course.
Riddle said: “We are impressed with the approachable team at BookSource, and I know they will ensure a seamless transition as we make this move later this year. The directors’ enthusiasm at BookSource, their experience in book distribution, and their passion for the service they provide made the decision process simple. I know our list is in safe hands. I’d like to thank the team at GBS for their care over the years and wish them the best for the future.”
Managing director of BooksSource Davinder Bedi said: “I’m delighted to welcome Heartwood to the BookSource family, and I look forward to strengthening our relationship further. Moving distributors is not an easy decision for any publisher, however, I am delighted that we have demonstrated that the BookSource team is focused on delivering an unrivalled distribution service. Our mission has always been to help publishers do business, and we will continue to do that.”
In February 2023, PRH confirmed that its third-party distribution services operation at Grantham would become an “operational hub” for PRH US to fulfil its orders to customers in Europe.
