Heron Books, an imprint of Quercus Books, has bought a new title about evolution by Professor Alice Roberts. Heron Books signed World rights in The Incredible Unlikeliness of Being from Luigi Bonomi Associates.
Susan Watt, publisher of Heron Books, said: “This book is a delight and reading it has been an enriching experience. It is full of discoveries, with new views of our bodies and how we function. With her enthusiasm for discovery, Alice Roberts carries us forward as if on an adventure, making the science accessible and irresistible to everyone.”
The book is designed as an accessible look at the human body, exploring why and how we have developed as we have, and the history of our anatomical understanding.
Roberts is an academic, anatomist, osteoarchaeologist and author, who has presented several science documentary television programmes such as ‘Origins of Us’ on BBC Two. She is currently professor of public engagement in science at the University of Birmingham. She has written four previous books, two with Bloomsbury, and two with Dorling Kindersley.
Heron Books will publish The Incredible Unlikeliness of Being on 4th September 2014.
