Hilary Strong has left International Literary Properties (ILP), after three and half years as c.e.o. of UK and Europe. The Bookseller understands the company’s London office premises has also closed, but has retained a staff in the UK.
Strong moved into the job in February 2021, and was formerly c.e.o. of Agatha Christie Ltd. In her role at ILP, she was responsible for the UK and European acquisition programme, acquiring the rights in literary estates from those who have inherited them, or from living authors. She also had global responsibility for the company’s TV and film exploitation of estates acquired.
The New York-headquartered business is led by Scott Hoffman as global c.e.o. and executive chairman Ted Green. Strong confirmed to The Bookseller that she had left her role, but did not wish to comment further.
Hoffman, from ILP, told The Bookseller: "The team at ILP is well-positioned to expand on our mission to acquire and manage literary and theatrical properties in the US, UK, and around the world.”
