An innovative online PR campaign for Jasper Fforde's First Among Sequels (Hodder & Stoughton) by publicists Emma Knight and Tara Gladden took The Bookseller award for hardback fiction at the annual Publishers' Publicity Circle awards.
The trophy for hardback non-fiction went to Emma Harrow for The Secret by Rhonda Byrne (Simon & Schuster); Tamsin Kitson and Alexandra Richardson won the Borders award for celebrity hardback for Alex James' A Bit of a Blur (Little, Brown); Preena Gadher won the Blackwells award for paperback original non-fiction for The Islamist by Ed Husain (Penguin); and Adele Minchin won the LBF award for a children's book for Slam by Nick Hornby (Puffin).
The Daily Mail paperbacks award went to Heather Carswell for the 7th edition of Great Britain by David Else (Lonely Planet); Hannah Ross won the Waterstone's award for paperback original fiction for The Descendants by Kaui Hart Hemmings (Jonathan Cape); and the Publishing News award for Best Newcomer went to Thi Dinh for The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb (Allen Lane).
The Nielsen Book Award for Generic Campaign went to Liz Statham, Maria Boyle and Anna Paynton for Rough Guides 25s. Dom Kippen of Borders was voted PPC Events Manager of the Year, and PPC Journalist of the Year went to Alex Heminsley.
