Hodder & Stoughton will publish Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other by Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish, stars of the historical drama series "Outlander".
Publisher Briony Gowlett acquired world English rights from Zoe Ross at United Agents. The title will be published on 5th November 2020.
Scotsmen Heughan and McTavish will document their journey as they embark on a Scottish road trip. Starting in Glencoe, the duo will travel to Inverness and Culloden. Along the way they will experience the adventure of the Highlands, meet colourful locals and discover more about their country and heritage.
Gowlett said: "Fans have been charmed by Sam and Graham’s offscreen friendship but might not previously have known about their shared love of their homeland, Scotland. Clanlands is a celebration of Scotland through the eyes of two people who have immersed themselves in its history, culture and whisky!"
Heughan and McTavish said: "A combination of confessional diary meets historical exploration, with hair-raising adventures thrown in, the Clanlands road trip was born out of a shared passion for Scotland: its culture, heritage, music, history, characters who surpass anything found in fiction, and much enthusiastic sampling of malt whisky. Woven through with anecdotes from our lives spent in theatre and film, we share our journey in real time and see the – sometimes – contradictory interpretations of the same unique experience!"
