Hodder to publish Pocket Astrology series

Hodder is publishing a series of 12 pocket-sized guides to astrology by Sally Kirkman, helping readers "to enhance every aspect of their life by using the stars".

Briony Gowlett, Hodder Media publisher, and Huw Armstrong, editor for non-fiction, commissioned 12 individual titles in The Pocket Astrology series, authored by astrologist Kirkman, to be published on 22nd February 2018. 

Dubbed a response to a "resurgent interest" in astrology during "a time of instability", with Millennials showing particular interest in the stars, the series will intoduce readers to all there is to know about their star sign, including their horoscope and common traits, looking at everything from friendship to finance, careers to compatibility.

Gowlett said: "One of the things we aim to do at Hodder Media is to spot trends and create books in- house that will reach the widest possible audience. These short, gifty books are a great example of a home-grown series idea that the entire team is immensely excited about."

Armstrong specifically comissioned Kirkman to write the books, acquiring world rights direct from the author. He added: "Sally is the perfect author for this series. Having practiced astrology for over 25 years, Sally understands the stars better than anyone. These beautifully packaged books will offer readers new insight into their sign and help everyone discover their inner self."
