Hodder & Stoughton has acquired world rights in the autobiography of terminally ill Nolan Sister Bernie Nolan.
Now and Forever, to be published on 9th May 2013, will tell Bernie Nolan’s story, written over the last six months she has battled terminal cancer.
Nolan first fought off breast cancer in 2011 but the disease returned last summer and had spread to her lungs, liver, and bones and she was told it was incurable. Nolan has starred in the Nolan Sisters, on stage in "Blood Brothers" and "Chicago" and on television in "Brookside" and "The Bill".
Hodder editorial director Fenella Bates acquired world rights to the autobiography from Neil Howarth at Urban Associates.
Bates said: “Bernie Nolan is an incredibly brave and inspiring woman. As soon as she received the diagnosis last summer, her first thought was of her daughter. As recent headlines have suggested, Bernie is tragically in the final stages of her fight, but she is still battling with all her might to stay with her family for as long as she can.
"She has been writing her book for the last six months and it’s impossible not to be moved by the wonderfully warm-hearted voice that comes through loud and clear on every page. It is a searing account of a wife and mother’s fight against a vicious disease, and the life less ordinary Bernie has lived over the last 50 years.”
The hardback and e-book will be priced £16.99.
